Overview
Designed the UI/UX for PETRONAS’ integrated learning management system — a progressive web app and native app used by staff across the organisation for training, assessments, career path planning, and team management.
Our Approach
PETRONAS needed a learning platform that could serve tens of thousands of employees across different departments, roles, and competency levels. We designed the system around personalised learning paths: each staff member sees recommendations based on their role, department, and career trajectory. The interface balances information density (supervisors need to track team progress across multiple modules) with simplicity (individual learners need a clean, focused experience). The assessment module supports multiple question formats, timed examinations, and automated grading. We used progressive disclosure extensively — hiding complexity until it’s needed.
Deliverables
Results
The i-LMS platform serves PETRONAS staff across Malaysia, supporting training programmes from technical safety courses to leadership development. The career path feature connects learning achievements to promotion eligibility, creating a direct link between professional development and career progression.
